Gold Angler
Made for GBJAM 14 in 10 days where the themes were "gameboy" and "old gold"!
THE GAME
Help Finn the fisherman retire by fishing up treasure across
3 different levels!
Collect enough treasure before the timer runs out.
Navigate your hook to attach it to treasure and bring it up to your boat to deposit it, watch out for junk and debris that will knock treasure off your hook.
Treasure have different value:
Coin = 1
Goblet = 3
Coffer = 5
Diamond = 10
Fish are friendly and will not take your treasure :)
Protip: if you have just picked treasure you have a couple of frames of invulnerability if the item is nearby junk and you stand still.

Well scoped ideas are the best ideas for a game jam. Even though the game itself is not complicated it ran with a small idea and executed it perfectly.
In the graphic department people cooked really hard, the game looks lovely, has a distinct style to it, which it does well!
SFX and mx are well tuned, not too loud (thank you for the warning though!) and fit the idea of a gameboy nicely imo.
Interpretation is a bit common, but still not the main ideas so well done!
Good game idea, lovely work!
Fun game. I got to Diamond Lake on my first try then ran out of time. It has a nice GB feel and it is a decent interpretation of "Old Gold" Well done for a Game Jam game.
Cool game!
Very nice style, the palette is cool !
100 dollars for a single level is a tad long though!
Once you've seen one level, you've kinda seen it all, it would've been cool to see new mechanics.
Congrats on the submission! :)
Color palette is pretty. I so wanted to catch a fish, but not able to do it :(
Levels are too long for my taste, 100 on first level is too much. Anyway, Cool game!
cool concept, but everything above level 1 is same thing, just longer imo
art and music goated
